GCDC Graduation Concert at FHL: 18/11/2023
Grace Child Development Centre held a Graduation Concert after a three-year hiatus, in Grace Auditorium, Fu Hui Link community hub. This preschooler-led event was not merely a performance. It unfolded as a delightful journey that transported the audience and participants through time, weaving a seamless narrative connecting the past, present, and future.
In this mesmerising concert, our K2 emcees led the audience on a transformative journey projecting the children into a futuristic Singapore. The performances were centred on the theme of time travel, showcasing MRT rides, Changi Airport tours and hawker food exploration. Culminating in a Changi Airport Maze, a magical mirror unveiled a future of sustainable living, with solar panels, space-grown flowers and oceanic smart homes.
The radiant smiles of the children illuminated the auditorium. Each of the classes, from Nursery 1 to Kindergarten 2, presented an enthralling spectrum of talents, including singing, coordinated dancing and dramatisation. Our K1 and K2 children were actively involved in various roles, such as emcees, narrators, ushers and photographer. The use of age-appropriate props and whimsical costumes added a comical touch, captivating the audience.
This concert served as a holistic learning experience for our children, enabling them to cultivate teamwork and develop confidence. Their dedication was reflected in relentless rehearsals to refine their performances, which showcased not only their talents and current competence, but also skills that are crucial for the 21st century and their future success.
Parents also participated actively in this concert, by contributing their time and creativity to assist in dressing and applying make-up for our children, besides cheering for and applauding our kids during the concert.
The euphoric atmosphere reached its pinnacle with the speech delivered by Venerable Kuan Yan, President of Singapore Buddhist Welfare Services. Her motivational speech resonated with the audience, uplifting spirits and increasing the positive vibes of this joyful occasion. She encouraged our graduates to grow and develop with grace, gratitude and passion for learning, as well as to nurture greater wisdom, resilience and a big heart.
The invaluable contributions from everyone involved, including children, parents, and special guests, truly made this concert a resounding success, creating enduring memories of joy and accomplishment, as well as instilled a profound sense of pride in our graduates and their families. It not only showcased the talents of young performers, but also spotlighted the collaborative spirit and commitment to holistic development at Grace Child Development Centre.
